Viaduct Jelše

The motorway passes the Jelše valley with two parallel 345m long viaducts over 9 spans with the lengths of 40m and 28m of end spans respectively.

The superstructures of the viaducts were built using the incremental launching technique. The advantages of this method are high speed of construction, low environmental impact during construction, easier construction over traffic infrastructure, as well as more robust, higher quality and more sustainable structures.

Due to unfavourable geometric elements of the carriageways a modified technique has been used where the superstructures were launched on a centreline of substitute radius, which is not identical to the centreline of the MW.
